RESUMEN: Este artículo trata de los hechos acaecidos en el periodo histórico más corto de la II República conocido como el Frente Popular. Se inicia con las elecciones generales de febrero de 1936 y concluye con los inicios de la sublevación militar del 18 de julio de 1936. Todo ello referido a la comarca del Jiloca. En el artículo se analiza la vuelta a las reformas (religiosas, políticas, agrarias...) que se habían iniciado en el primer bienio republicano y cómo son cortadas radicalmente por el golpe de
Estado del general Franco. En el texto también se relatan los primeros momentos del levantamiento armado en los pueblos del Jiloca.
ABSTRACT: This article illustrates the events occurred during the shortest period of the Second Spanish Republic, known as Popular Front. It begins with the general election that took place in February of 1936 and ends with the start of the coup and military uprising on the 18th of July, 1936. All the events described are related to the Jiloca region. We analyze the return to the reforms (religious, politic, agricultural, …) that started during the first Republican biennium and how they were radically terminated by Franco’s coup d’état. Here we also narrate how the initial days of the military uprising developed in the Jiloca region.

ABSTRACT: This article illustrates the events occurred during the shortest period of the Second Spanish Republic, known as Popular Front. It begins with the general election that took place in February of 1936 and ends with the start of the coup and military uprising on the 18th of July, 1936. All the events described are related to the Jiloca region.
